Quality planning, quality control, and quality improvement are three central tenets to his management philosophy and became widely known as the Juran Quality Trilogy. Dr. Juran developed the quality trilogy – quality planning, quality improvement, and quality control.

To conclude, while one might at first glance think that Deming, Juran, and Crosby have different approaches to the management of quality, in the final analysis all three insist on the same basic principles. If the correct processes are in place there is some assurance that the actual results will turn out as expected. As Crosby aptly pointed out, the main difference lies in the perspective one takes. The concepts are improtant for anyn book. Dr.Juran is called Qaulity Guru along with Deming and PhilCrosby. Quality Control is a product focussed concept, where checking of the actual results are done to ensure that things are as expected. Certainly nothing in a name. Quality Assurance is a process focused concept, where the processes are put in place to ensure the correct steps are done in the correct way. Quality assurance policy statement and procedures quality improvements that raise the level of performance, which then must be controlled or sustained at that level in order to start the cycle again. The Juran Trilogy was developed by Dr. Joseph Juran, and it’s something I learned about recently in my Total Quality Management and Six Sigma course.
