Joe Kidd is a decent Western directed by John Sturges that brings in enough star power from both Clint Eastwood and Robert Duvall to create a worthwhile experience. Chama finally agrees to give himself up to the law, not to Harlan, after being threatned by Kidd.
In order to smoke out Chama, Harlan holds a small village hostage until Chama gives himself up, threatening to kill 5 people until he does so. I actually like this movie better than some of his more famous westerns (and a couple of his other films) from the 1965-74 era, but that's just my opinion. Luis Chama John Saxon.
